Geeklog
Content Management System by Jason Whittenburg and Tony Bibbs.
When there is need there is a creation indeed. GeekLog was
originally developed for the Security Geeks web site and was
originally authored by Jason Whittenburg. In early 2001.
Later he decided to handover the project to Tony Bibbs
who is currently working on releasing the state of art next
generation content management system. Geeklog also provide
fully customizable API to develop your own plugins and site
themes, providing ability to developers to explore complete
functionality of the system. This an excellent content
management system with powerful features and function more than
a blog like creating static pages and much more.
We are offering Geeklog as preinstalled software, that
comes free with all our linux hosting plans. You can
install the CMS with few clicks and ready to go with your site
quickly. Its easily customizable interface allow a developer
create the necessary modules and themes to give portal its own
look and feel as well as desired feature integrations.
Geeklog is better known as powerful weblog or blogging system.
It is Open-Source software released under GNU licence that works
as a Weblog, CMS or Web Portal. Geeklog is written in PHP and
uses MySQL as a backend database, allows you to create your own
virtual community portal complete with user administration,
story posting, customised look, comments, polls, calendar, web
links, content syndication, and many more features. One of the
key strengths of Geeklog is the User Rights Management system.
You may assign read and edit rights to a given group of users.
Each user may in turn be part of any group, and groups may
inherit rights from other groups. This creates a web of rights
which can fulfill the requirements of an international corporate
intranet site or an interwoven community of web-users.
Geeklog also allows new functionality to be added to it
in the form of plugins. Certain plugins come pre-installed:
Static Pages (as opposed to news articles) and a spam-filter for
the comment system. Other plugins allow you to collect usage
statistics on your site, add a section on the page to show the
weather, or display images from your photo gallery, for example.
Most of the plugins developed by the Geeklog community are FOSS
so they are available for free and you may modify them to fit
your needs.
It allows you to set up a fully functioning dynamic website in
minutes, and has many features to get you started quickly. As of

the public to register for your site and submit stories.
